Can't map MIDI controls to Massive X

Yes, I already know that Massive X only displays the Macro knobs to the host!

I'm trying to control the Massive X macro knobs using my LaunchControl XL. Should be easy, right? Param -> FX Parameter List -> Learn. Pick the plugin control, move the physical control you want to map, away you go. Except when I move the physical control, nothing happens in the plugin. I've also tried showing the parameter envelope and mapping the param through the envelope controls - same result.

I've gone through the same process with the original Massive and with Pigments and it all works fine, so it's not a problem with Reaper or with the LaunchControl. Has anyone else seen this?

Done some playing, it looks like this only affects the VST2 version of Massive X. Switched to the VST3 version and parameters can be mapped as normal.
