Oli, I'm definitely interested in helping you with beta testing. The more we have on board the Ambisonic train, the better as far as I'm concerned.

No doubt you didn't see this section of the forum earlier because it didn't exist until a week or so ago.

I'll check out your Binaural mix when I'm in my studio later on. I'm also very interested in hearing your HOA mix too.

Do you have any slower pieces of music in HOA?

i haven't got anything publicly available that i've worked on. You can find ambisonic pieces on ambisonia: http://www.ambisonia.com/

This sounds really good here Oli. Great track.
I'd love to hear the HOA mix too.

If you're keen to share info about what you used to create the mix, I'd love to know more.

this was before the IEM plugins came out.

I used Ambix stereo encoder, Blue Ripple O3A flare and O3A reverb. ALLRAD Decoders generated with the Ambisonic Decoder Toolkit.

It was very well mixed to begin with, so i essentially positioned lots of stereo stems into different parts of the 5th order ambisonic sound field, with a bit of rotation/movement at certain points.

Good stuff Oli! Just downloaded the YouTube version and will compare that to the Soundcloud one. No doubt the YouTube one will sound better. Their compression is a lot better these days.

I left you a comment on the video and subscribed to your channel too.

Going to download the HOA mix over the weekend and have a listen on my cube array. I'll check out the 3rd order mix because I'm using Blue Ripple decoders. Looking forward to cranking up the studio rig with this one.

Maybe because it's still not available from the forum's frontpage?

It is listed on the front page. Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Thx, Dave. Refreshing that page showed it.

I almost never visit the frontpage. It's strange that when I pulled it up it didn't show, as I rebuilt this OS just a few weeks ago. Means the page doesn't have a sensible refresh period?

I have no idea to be honest. I didn't need to do anything here to get it to show. It just showed as soon as Justin create it. Perhaps it is a browser specific thing or something related to cookies but I'm just randomly guessing here.

Very nice! I'm glad you found this area of the forum, it looks like you have been going down this road for a while.

You could have a pannable HOA version of the music on your website using something like HOAST to do it. I mention it because it looks like you have the html/js chops to pull something like this off. What are you using for the audio visualization on the numinous3d site?

On a related note, I love how YouTube in browser now delivers the spatial audio mix to 5.1 speakers as a L,R,Ls,Rs rendering. It's fun to listen to this stuff that way, very immersive.

Yeah I have a version for hoast, and was trying to integrate the binaural panning, but the processing required is too heavy for the oculus quest it seems. It works well with tethered VR though

Didn’t know about YouTube 5.1, that will be really cool if it works with the AirPods spatial audio mode

I'm looking for a set of headphones that support head rotation for YouTube and (hopefully) OSC. Let me know what you discover. Do the AirPods rotate the soundfield? Do they play nicely with anything other than Mac/IOS?
