Default Setting a default velocity value.

I haven't been able to find this feature in Reaper and I think it would be very useful. As it is right now, every new note entered into the piano roll has a default velocity of 127. It would be cool if you could set your own default velocity, or at least have the option for Reaper to "remember" the velocity of the most recently entered note, and then use that value. I think it would make the workflow a bit faster. Again, I'm nitpicking, but as far as I know it wouldn't be that difficult to implement, so I'm just throwing it out there

Really appreciate Reaper and everything that it's given us so far, best DAW on the planet hands down. Keep up the good work fellas!

I always get 100 for new notes, but I have no clue why

In MIDI editor, clicking on the left side piano roll key will set the velocity for the following notes. Or clicking on an already existing note will take its velocity for the following ones.

As per ED's post above. But I do not know where it gets stored in the .ini files.

It's not. You can't set it.

It seems to work the way Evil Dragon described above back in 2018.

But changing the value of the vertical velocity bars in the cc lane doesn't affect the value of the next note created, even though changing the velocity using the handle on a note WILL determine the vel of the next note drawn.

My dream is to use a fader to set the default velocity.

I was thinking about inserting 127 tiny notes with pitch 0, that can be selected trough an action. But new default velocity seem only to be set when midi note is selected with a mouse.

My ultimate goal is to control default velocity with a fader, like on my keyboard.

A shallow workaround is to make a jsfx (which i did) that convert note channel to note velocity.

A fader can be used to trigger an action that change the channel.
I dont have the skills yet to fullfill this fantasy.
