Default ReaMorphPad JSFX for manipulating presets

Has anyone tried to do this with JSFX yet? Can it be done? Would it not be supremely awesome and powerful?

This idea was inspired by a feature found Wiggle and Loom II (probably others as well).

The idea is that the user can choose a number of points from say, 2-12 (or any number really) and ReaMorphPad would depict a shape with that many corners (or just a line with 2 points).

Each of these points around the shape would store the current plugin parameters when selected. After doing this for a number of points, one would then be able to drag inside the pad to morph between all these different sets of parameters in realtime.

This would provide a powerful tool for live performance as well as manipulating many parameters simultaneously in the simplest possible way.

Now in those aforementioned plugins, the feature is implemented such that you create path for the sound to automatically morph along, but I think it would be much more useful to also tailor this pad to realtime/touch-use, since creating linear paths would be readily done by writing the automation in Reaper (albeit a potentially huge number of paths).

However, if as an additional feature, one could also visually record the path traced into the MorphPad and then "play it back" just like in Wiggle or Loom, it would of course be tremendous.

So...is this the real life, or is it just fantasy? What do you guys think?

well, I did something exactly like that with Lbx stripper and loom synth, I needed more parameters control than the loom's modulators provided.
You might wanna check his chaosengine too https://github.com/L-B-X/LBXChaosEngine/
If I understood correctly it is designed to do what you are talking about...

Hmm, yea that definitely seems close. I can't tell if it can be manipulated directly though. That was kinda the main difference between this idea and the ones I've seen; you could have e.g. 12 different presets saved around the shape and then could morph between them with a finger on the pad (& touch screen, obviously).

But thanks for the tip, now let's see what this Chaos Engine can do...

Oh nice! Missed that one.

Well I hope I didn't sound like I have any ability or inclination to try this myself. Just an idea.

But here's how I envision it:
1. Choose a plugin to work with
2. Choose a number of points, e.g. 6, creating a shape like this:

3. Dial in sounds on the plugin, clicking each of the points to store the parameters as a "preset"
4. Drag the pad to morph between the points.

Basically looking to work with a ton of parameters with a minimum of fuss. But maybe it can't be so simple... I'm about to check out chaos engine, but from the docs it seemed it would only allow morphing between multiple sets of 2 points. Let's find out.

...which results in music like this:

Yea, mmm, probably not though. What's funny is I didn't even realize it was the same as that symbol cos it's turned...

There's the Kawa Morpher, which can morph between 4 presets
