Reaper 5.62 Freezes when changing project sample rate...

I got some stems that were recorded at 48Khz but my normal project settings are 44.1Khz (both at 24 bit). When I go to change the sample rate of the project (or setting it at the beginning of the project) the program freezes and that's all she wrote. Has anyone else experience this? and yes I did set my interface to 48Khz before I started the program, still the same problem...is there a work around. I'm using Windows 10 (which actually kind of sucks because it is really flaky :/) and a Scarlette 18i20. Thanks in advance!

Do you have the 'Allow projects to override device sample rate' setting enabled in Device Preferences? My Scarlett 2i4 2nd Gen crashes if it is and I try to open a project with a different sample rate than the device currently has.
