Is there somewhere a place with a SWS.ReaperLangPack template (just as provided on Reaper website, but with SWS actions) ?
I want to see if some untranslated SWS strings I just found are unstralated because untranslated yet or because they are not localizable.

SWS/Fingers Groove apply & apply midi hardware emulation are slow with many items over multiple tracks selected,
i don't recall them being this slow to apply?
Reaper GUI freezes for about 15 seconds in this project i am working on right now

Just curious about the new SWS loudness actions...
When loudness normalizing items is there some kind of gate or so implemented for measuring ?
I'm asking because I'm wondering what happens when normalizing items which contain partly silence, how is that dealt with ?

That is dealt with in the way that the integrated loudness is measured, and yes there is a gate of sorts.
For further information take a look at the EBU technical documents for loudness measuring, especially "tech3341" sections 2.2 and 2.3, where it explains that momentary and short term loudness readings are not gated, but integrated loudness is. The SWS tool normalises based on integrated loudness.

Yep, gating is applied when measuring integrated loudness.

It isn't - normalizing just adjusts the gain in comparison with measured integrated loudness and silence (as defined by r128) should remain silence in all but rare cases - during testing I witnessed no irregular behavior.
Loudness dialog has an option to reanalyze normalized targets so you should see the results of normalization immediately. Give it a try - see how it behaves with various audio and let us know

Thank you both.
Just for clarifying, I kinda knew (vaguely) what planetnine is saying about the gating when measuring integrated loudness, just was wondering if the SWS actions work the same or if silence could "throw off" the results perhaps.
But everything is clear now.

Ok, while we're on the subject...
Here's a question:
Track 1 original imported item, Track 2 normalized item to -23 LUFS via SWS action.
As can be seen, it clips. Why is that ?
Isn't the point of this new loudness standard to avoid clipping (amongst other things).
edit:
Is it because of this specific sound here maybe (metronome / click sound) ?

Yes, clicks are very "spikey", they have a high "crest factor" because their peaks are very high relative to their energy, or here, intrinsic loudness.
Try something more representative: music or spoken word, maybe..?
Edit: This shows how little energy your clicks have, they had to be raised over 18dB just to get them to -23LU..!

Oh I have, and I got the results I expected.
This metronome item was the only thing that threw me off, but I can see why now. Thanks.
And not to forget, thanks Breeder for implementing this.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this but Reaper is crashing when executing "SWS/FNG: transpose selected MIDI items down an octave". It just goes "reaper stopped working"/white screen.
Win 7 x64, Reaper x64 4.7pre4 and SWS v2.4.0 #9.
Anyone confirm?

Appears to be intermittent. Restarted reaper and it's not happening, but it's not just one project, and it always happens when running that command which is bound to shift+down arrow in the arrangement window. Damn it. It instantly goes windows 7 white screen too so I don't know what to do to reliably test for it or report it.

Hi
I'm on a mac and I'm trying to get a different theme to load whenever repeat is turned on. Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work in the cycle editor:
Nor does this work:
Both are conditional macros that have no step so I would expect that every time the repeat toggle state is changed either via the GUI or a via the toggle repeat action itself the theme would change. Am I right in thinking the macro runs itself whenever it "needs to" or must it be added to another macro that includes the toggle repeat command also?
EDIT: To answer my own question: the conditional macro looks like it needs to either immediately follow the toggle command itself (in the case of repeat) or at least be run some time after (in the case of transport record).
Many thanks

Quick and Easy Subtitling using Reaper and Subtitle Workshop
Hi everyone !
Because subtiling in Reaper is possible thanks to SWS extension,
I wanted to show you how we can use Reaper for subtiling... and how powerful it is !
I wrotte an article, which contains all information about how to synch subtitles, from a transcript to a finished SRT, with the help of Reaper.
Here is the article :
Quick and Easy Subtitling using Reaper and Subtitle Workshop
this is a practical illustration based on my previous article on the same subject :
A Detailed Guide to Subtitling with Reaper
I truely think that Reaper is very powerful for subtitling, and that it's power in that domain has to be more known, and more used.
The thing is that it needs just small improvements to be perfect.
I already paste feature request on the google sws code website, and in this thread itself.
If you are interested about subtitling in Reaper, please vote
Thanks for listening !
(ps : I already know that this subject will interest a minority of Reaper users... but opening the gate of subtitling will give Reaper an opportunity to have new motivated user :P)

Anyway, it is good to feel listen, thanks you a lot !
(good luck for next releases, both Reaper and SWS !)

Breeder/Jeffos, is there any chance of adding LU K-offsets to the loudness extension for this cycle please?
I've been following the progress on GoogleCode, eagerly hoping to see LU K additions (to r1382) that and copying selected rows to clipboard would make this tool very, very useful.
Will we be allowed to follow on GIThub?
In hopeful anticipation...

Sorry for hustlin', got someone and their workflow I want to introduce it to.
Will be more painful and duplicate effort if it's not K-weighted already. Our metering plugins are using LU K-16 and he's the sort of customer who'll get confused easily.
I just get frustrated because my programming skills don't allow me to write these things for myself. I get lots of ideas but my coding chops aren't up to it.
C'mon, you surely can't have anything better to do...
Edit: For LU K-16 (or LU K-16d), you just need to add 16 to the LUFS value and replace the " LUFS" text with " LUK-16" (or "LUK-16d") on the integrated, max short-term and max momentary columns (difference between K-16 and K-16 dynamic is only in the meter colouring, not relevant here, so K-16d is identical for this table and could be omitted). Loudness range is still in LU whatever the offset.
For LU K-12, LU K-14 and LU K-20, an addition of a 12, 14 or 20 LU offset is used, respectively, in the same manner and with revised "LUK-12", "LUK-14" or "LUK-20" labelling, respectively.
I hope this helps, it's not a difficult addition, it just requires a LUFS/ LUK-12/ LUK-14/ LUK-16/ LUK-20 scale option.

Can you also normalize multiple items (common gain) to -23LUFS? For example, if I had a track like a vocal with a lot of splits, and wanted the levels to stay consistent....

I think you'd have to group or glue the items together to maintain common gain, unless Breeder knows differently...
What happens if you analyse and normalise on "Track" as opposed to "Item"..?

Great update for tempo mapping, thanks.
I won't able test it for a day or 2 but I'm hoping to generate a tempo map from stretch markers then swap parts around and generate a new tempo map from the new stretch marker positions.

YESSSSSS!!!!!
The new tempo editing actions now enable us to achieve complex freehand curves in the tempo map, as it always should have been!!! Thanks so, so much Breeder for all of this!!!
On my side, I can consider this FR satisfied :

Greetings and lots of thanks also to the whole SWS team! Your contributions are a fundamental part of Reaper´s wonders...
