Default Frozen tracks & absolute directory paths in RPP

If you freeze a track, the RPP file can contain stuff like:

<SOURCE WAVE
FILE "D:\reaper_projects\Voice On Death Row\audio\09-Acoustic-211229_1445.wav"
>

in the ITEM tag.

So, if you rename the project directory, this path will then be "wrong". When you unfreeze the track, the item's wave is empty -- probably for this reason. It does seem to recover (fix itself) after some time -- which is great. There's probably some logic where it tries to re-find the wav file using a checksum or similar. I'm not sure.

But wouldn't it make more sense for frozen tracks to store store relative paths rather than absolute paths? I thought everything in RPP was relative -- not absolute.
