JS plugins are already kinda-sorta skinnable utilizing LICE. Check the developer section and you will see.

It's already much better than it was. I find Reaper's MIDI actually better and faster to work with than Studio One 2, for example.

Most likely won't happen, since you can already set external editors for waveform editing. So put Wavosaur there and that's it. Integrated to Reaper? Don't think it will happen, as Reaper is all about non-destructive editing.

This won't happen, as it's not what Cockos really wants for Reaper. The point of Reaper is to be as small as possible while offering as much as possible. That's why there's not really an aspiration to bundle a lot of different instruments with the installation. Use whatever else you want - each user can tailor Reaper to his/her own needs.
