Default Blackdamp release

Download it here:
https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/652/Blackdamp

Blackdamp:
A minimalist grey theme that is very easy on the eyes and let the things that matter stand out (active buttons, colored tracks, vu meters, etc).

Instalation:
Download the zip and extract the files to "ColorThemes" folder on Reaper. I´ve included 8 variations (see screenshot below). To choose a theme, go to 'Options > Themes'.

Notes:
- As each theme is a single file, you can just delete the ones that you don´t like.
- It has the complete 128 toolbar buttons from the default Reaper 3 theme.
- The 4 themes tagged as "TopPan" are meant to be used with "Show pan controls at top" option checked (right click menu on master track) and "Set track label background to custom track colors" unchecked (Preferences > Appearence > Track control panels). Check the screenshot below for reference.

Credits:
This theme is a modification of an unfinished version of Catalyst (by AdamWathan). It also has many elements from RADO (by Nick Moritz) and some from the default Reaper 3 theme. The toolbar button collection wouldn´t be possible without EvilDragon help. A big thank you to all of them and the awesome Reaper community.

I realize I kinda fucked up on some details that are blueish grey and were supposed to be 100% greyscale (ex: mastertrack fx list and master vu meters background). I´m correcting these things and make other small improvements. Gonna re-upload it in a few hours.

Done! Anyone who downloaded the theme pack on 10/02/2010, please go grab it again. I´ve corrected many things and made a new MonoRed theme.

It´s the same link. If the zip file has 3.7 Mb and it has the MonoRed themes, then it is the right one. Thanks.

nice, how are your colour preferences set for media and peaks/waveforms?

I like this one a lot. I remember reading the thread where this started, and I am glad to see someone took it the rest of the way.

Only things I changed: I set the Track Label background to be custom track color, set the Meters to a traditional interlaced color scheme (Green=> Yellowish/amberish =>Red for clipping), and changed so the Odd, and Even Track lanes are different shades.

Thanks for the work guys!

I really like this one a lot. Thanks for the effort. It reminds me of the old multitracks I used to use back in my hardware days.

Cheers.

In the future I think I´m going to try a complete greyscale (including the buttons) theme based on the MonoRed.

As this theme is basically 100% greyscale, it goes well with whatever appearence options you like most. Personally I like to check "set track label background to custom track colors" as it is easier to find the tracks on the mixer panel. I only uncheck this when I´m using one of the "TopPan" themes, as it looks bad with the tinted label. On the other hand, the TopPan has a bigger font and better label position, so it´s not a problem to find the track you want on the mixer view even without the coloured label. Here´s how I currently use the settings you´ve asked me:

One other thing I found to be helpful. Changing the Midi cursor color it make using the ME for drums much more bearable (i set this to red so it would stand out). Also both the standard cursor color, as well as the secondary (first color is Red, secondary is yellow). I found these things to be very helpful so I thought I would share.

Loving this theme though, All the non essential stuff is so bland it causes the essential stuff to pop right out at you. Gotta love contrast!

Thanks for the feedback. I actually haven´t messed much with the color settings, only with the images. Midi Editor for example is probably straight from RADO. I will definitely watch for these things when I feel like doing a second version. I will wait until Reaper 4 comes out to see if the themes will even be compatible before going through all the trouble, though.

Hey not a problem, and totally understandable. I honestly would have never thought of it, but necessity is the mother of all invention.

this looks great. only bad thing is the lack of contrast between the text on a track's name and its background. how can i fix this?

Preference>Apperance> Look under "Track control panels">

Un-check "Tint Track Panel backgrounds", Check "Set track label background to custom track colors"

Now whatever color you set as the custom track color will only show behind the track name. Makes for easy organization, and reading.

Is there a way I could replace the transport control with the default 4.0 transport control?

Looks great! Thanks very much. Icing on the cake for me if you could add knobs for panning. Great as is though.

Anything not explicitly set in a theme's own rtconfig.txt will be using the WALTER code from a fallback file called default_layouts.txt.

I found mine in [Reaper install directory]\Plugins (although WhiteTie's manual says for Windows OS it would be in [Reaper install directory]\InstallData\Data).

do you guys get this toolbar in Blackdamp-monored theme? Is this the default toolbar in cases when the info in the rtconfig file is not given?
