Default Is it possible to run two interfaces at the same time

I have a tascam 1800 and a focusrite Scarlett and I want to run them both into reaper is this possible?

Yes, but you have to use an audio device aggregator like ASIO4ALL.

Ok so I get asio for all and I set it up in the preferences and then do I just connect both interfaces to my computer with 2 different USB ports?

Exactly. Then choose your desired inputs/outputs in the ASIO4ALL control panel.



Of course it's always better to use the manufacturer's ASIO driver, but if you need to use more than one device this is the only way.

On a mac you can also just do an aggregate device and plug-in both interfaces. Within the audio utilities you can then control how they function when it comes to output/inputs.

This is also pretty useful to use with Soundflower, etc.
