THANK YOU THANK YOU WOOHOO I think we got it.
My prediction is that this should fix: https://1014.org/_/jsfx-builds-sse11.zip
(crossing fingers!)
(and I have a little bit of an idea of why it only affected your system -- it is likely your system has a more aggressive ASLR enabled or something like that)

could this also be why I've had other weird random bugs?
Like the action list having all of their menus pulled all the way left so I couldn't see it anymore?

Very minor but hard to diagnose! actually in hindsight it should’ve been a lot easier but I fucked up early on (should’ve made one more initial build to test something disabled)

I didn't really get how all of this worked, but I am curious.. did automute actually catch the noise burst?
So when it first occurred, did @Jae.Thomas have it disabled and switched it on for doing the tests? When he wrote "automute track 1 / 2" it means the noise happened but he didn't hear it thanks to automute?

I didn't and never have disabled it. I have NO idea how it got through the first time.
Every single other time it worked though. It is POSSIBLE, since I was just waking up, I had the mains too loud, and maybe the noise wasn't too loud.
But even though the noise clearly existed, the automute picked it up EVERY SINGLE OTHER time except the first couple of times i diagnosed.
It is also possible the pops that were coming out of reeq were interacting with another plugin in that particular project.
But as you can see from these bizarre responses, it's a really weird and random bug.

Ok thanks for the information. Did you perhaps see the channel meter peak values? Were they more or less always close to the automute threshold?
Indeed a very weird bug. I'm glad Justin managed to hunt it down with your help!
