Default Quality Live casting on a budget

This setup has proven itself to some folks in the casting community, so I thought this diagram might make it easier for folks to put this together themselves.

All components are cheap and of decent quality. The most expensive thing in this setup is the dual compressor/limiter. All the gear is Behringer. The low price also means it's less painful to replace, but you still need to take good care of it. More sturdy gear is more expensive.

This setup includes
  • A set of two Behringer C2 microphones (one for backup or a second caster)

  • One or two Behringer Ultragain 100 microphone preamps

  • A Behringer MDX 1600 dual-channel compressor/limiter

  • A Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer

  • one or two pop screens (EXTREMELY important when using these little condenser mics)

  • cables
