4.26 Batch Convertor Wildcard Bug
In the batch convertor now there are default wildcards for the filename which shouldn't be there
"$tnum-$tname - $inum-$iname" thanks

Those defaults are still useful if you're converting items (and not files).. but yeah, I guess it should have a different default for converting files, right?

Thanks for the response, I see what you're going for now with this change.
What I use the batch convertor for 99.9% of the time is converting my Reaper exports to .mp3 for my iPhone. In that case I already have it named the way I want, and just want the exact same filename in mp3. This is the way it's always worked until this version, and now I need to delete these default wildcards every time I open the batch convertor if I want the previous behavior. I can live with it, but would prefer the default wildcard blank or remembering the previous user selected settings for files. (btw, some ID3-type support would be nice at some point. i.e. be able to specify album/artist etc in the project settings and have the corresponding fields filled when rendering files that support it. This could be integrated with wildcards in some way too perhaps.) Cheers!

Definitely. This recent change has really hindered my use of the batch convertor and there's been a few builds now so I'm bumping this hoping it doesn't get forgotten. What irks me is not that there is a potentially useful default for others, but that I have to change it every time I use the batch convertor (regardless of whether I've deleted these defaults the last 20 times in a row). I can't think of any other Reaper setting I have to change EVERY time I go to use it, so I hope this doesn't become the first... Thanks in advance.

Bump.
This bug is still present in 4.27pre7a. The batch convertor really needs to remember the last settings used. Needing to change things every time the window is opened because of some unwanted forced defaults isn't a positive change. Thanks in advance.

I know this is an older issue but this seems to still be a thing. I'm currently using Reaper's command line Batch and setting an OUTPATH. The batch converter by default is setting Wildcards to $tracknumber-$trackname - $itemnumber-$itemname. Is there a way to change this to be blank at the command line? I would like the input files to be processed to the OUTPATH using the same filenames. Thanks in advance
