Default Nebula Users early Xmas from hopi

Merry Merry and all that...

Been werkin' my little eyeballs to the bone and think this is done for now...

A series of 24 skins for Neb3 [don't think the free version will accept them but I really don't know for sure]

Here are the links on the stash:

The PDF about it all is here:
...with a special section for Reaper Peepers...

https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19200/HOPI%...20DOCUMENT.pdf

The four zip files, each with some of series ready to use are as follows:

Part ONE:
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19196/HOPI%...20PART%201.zip

Part TWO:
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19197/HOPI%...20PART%202.zip

Part THREE:
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19198/HOPI%...20PART%203.zip

Part FOUR:
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19199/HOPI%...20PART%204.zip

A couple of examples, the first with no name, the next with the COMPRESSOR name:

A list of all the included Names in the series to date:

My BIG THANKS for help from Richie43, Karbo, Ngarjuna, and Micheal Angel of CDSoundmasters...

May some of you find this enjoyable...

Default THANKS HOPI

Thanks to you personally as well as Richie43 - and although I have the audacity to take credit with the original idea to have Nebula skinnable years ago, it's full circle because of Justin years before that, doing the same with Winamp > Reaper.

And now it's better than ever and I'm going to trash every version of Nebula except the most recent Pro and Server, as I'm through experimenting with cockeyed meters. Now it's crunch time.

As for Nebula Presets, I've had 7 years to feast on most of them and between AlexB, Henry Olonga and Micheal Angel, I've got sonic bliss on demand, and demand is good

How can I ever pay you back hopi? Whatta dude.

Well doggy nose, just use it and enjoy!

this has been an interesting project so far... and I'm pleased with how the MINI series works... at the same time I 'think' I can do one more... the MICRO version... time will tell...

You are most welcome, ..thank you!

Now here's a little stocking stuffer for the kids:

It is not a 'series' [yet?] ...just a single GUI

...but it IS cute, IMHO!
small enough to stick in your coin pocket, or roll up and put behind your ear, ...or.... ...whatever!

Sorry, but I had to break my own preference for using sliders instead of knobs... but that is just how it goes sometimes ... still the knobs are fairly smooth on my pc

umm Ok but only if you say so... I'd better pack that pdf with it... I bet not too many people use the Init: window to tweak anything...

btw, have you [Richie43] ever really dug into that various 'guts' you an get at via that Init: ? there are some really deep settings in there... I can see they are critical for preset developers...

https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19247/HOPI%...%20Nebula3.zip

It's too damn little...

Freaking fantastic I mean woof woof

@ MyCrOw: Hopi great, and it took me a second to click under the values to see the "pac man" controls. Cool. i wa about to say "that's it, I'm using that one, quest over" and then you made ...

@ gEEk

Cursor, also from Hopi, not included. Note cursor changes values then and there :-)

Fantastic, at first I clicked under the indicators but didn't realize you can click on the value itself, in this case Drive.

Hopi & richie43, I can't overstate how much nicer using Nebula is. Not saying the ones created by Acustica using Maya are shabby, but lean and mean seems more appropriate most times.
A thousand times thanks! Outstanding documentation as well.

thanks for the nice words JoeyM123

and you surely know I'm happy that you are happy with them...

I just want to make sure that on gEEk you realize two things:
1- there ARE sliders for the In and Out gains... they can be tricky to grab with the mouse but they are there ...they are those little marks you see on either side of the meters..
2- more importantly... yes you an set some of the parameters directly by draggin in the Init:... BUT it can easily happen that a given preset has more parameters than the Init: will show... like say some of Henry's stuff that has a drive and a gdrv... besides attack and relz... so you can get stuck with gEEk not being able to tweek what you can't see.
Maybe at some later time I'll add tiny knobs to it...or wtf.... just use the MyCrOw... it has everything...

oh a PS... if that is FastStone capture, you can turn off capturing the cursor... even though I do love that one!

OKAY... here it is!

https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19297/HOPI%...%20working.zip

PDF guide for it is in the zip file... just so there will be no confusion about how it works.

Perhaps later I'll add a named series to this one. [if I find a good way to do so]

Default Skin disEase

The word elegant comes to mind... and that's a cool compressor by the way, in my personal top 5. The makeup gain on Nebula compressors is so solid.
Well you've extended the Top Shelf so high we're gonna need ladders at some point

Xmas is over so no more gifts... now you have to pay...

hahaha NO NO... just joking... that will never happen!

so hey... just completed another skin that is very different..
I'm doing this just see how much the envelope can be stretched..

Now the problem with this one, HOPI-SNOWFLAKE is the file size is way big for a Neb skin... it is just under 18 kb... compared to many others that are only 400 to 500 kb.

So it would be a royal PITA to send 10 or so parts up to the stash.

I'm trying to see if there is a good free hosting if that works I'll be back with the link here.

In the meantime, here's a preview:

well you can't see it all in one screen shot, nor can you see it in action, but it is a glimpse.

Now the reason this is 'so' big, is that each of the 10 moving knobs is a 288 frame png stack [rather than 144 with is more normal].. and normally only one or two are used... this one uses 10, plus the 'meters'...

OK hopefully this will work... wikisend.com

but is says it will only be there for 7 days as of now... Dec 26th

HOPI - SNOWFLAKE.rar

Please do let me know if you can get this file!

No it doesn't download proper. RAR says "unknown format or damaged". i tried 3 times, no luck, nothing more than 5k comes in. Can anyone confirm?
Hopi I might suggest Zip format too, just because lots of people still don't have RAR.

ah sorry 'bout that Karbo... 'under 18,000 kb' is what was meant.. anyway glad the link is working for the few who want to see it run... It's not important but it is different.

Joey ...good ... don't know what the prob. was... rar should be good for anyone these days, no?

Oh that's right I'm Joey
Was looking around there for a second.

As you know Hopi, I've got a certain bug up my ass today.
Do these skins work on Free version?

free version... I was wondering if YOU could tell me if they work.

I no longer have a free version here so I would very much like to know... and here are some ideas:

1- if the free version will load a normal xxxx.N2S file then they should work fine...

2- I would also like to know if the free version can load a folder for the skin that is not yet encrypted, not made into an xxx.N2S file.

Now to test that you could take the skin folder called, SK Good that comes along with the Nebula Skin Guide...

You would copy that folder into the Skins sub directory in the blahblahprepository folder...

Then you would have to open the matching .xml file that would be found in the vst folder where Nebula.dll resides.. and see where it says "OverwriteMe.N2S" and just paste in place of that the SK Good folder name.

It would be good to know if either or both these ways work in free version.

Trouble in Paradise, I might become an expert at the free version.
I knew i should have gotten a bag (joking, sorry, not everyone thought that was as funny as I did/do).

No real trouble, silly. And Nebula libraries are a much better value than a bag, unless you are talking about a good deal on a Coach purse on the black market....(or are you talking about a different sort of "bag".....lol?)

Richie sorry for not 'splaining, I only have two major original contributive ideas to Nebula. Skinning and a free version. Nothing involving math one bit Yes, in the Genesis of this fantastic technology, Giancarlo was kind and wise to implement ideas from his group. So for me to say those things to Hopi, who already has a wild sense of humor, he told me he's keep his eyes crossed for me, and I fell out of my chair. One thing though, I didn't realize they updated a lot of the free library. So yes, I'm going to check that out once again.

The Nebula libraries I bought lately (some before the sales), give me the options of these flavors, as they were the original equipment sampled. Ready?
AlexB Preamp Colors & Saturation Pro
Trident S80 channel strip, API 512, Amek 9098, AMS 1073, AMS 1081, Avalon VT737, Thermionic Earlybird, Calrec 1161 clean (sowter transformer bypassed), Calrec 1161 with sowter transformer engaged, Homemade tube-tape saturator flat + tube-tape saturator with tape gain, tube preamp from EMI console, Fatso + Fairchild preamp, Focusrite Red 8 clean + driven, Lawo 672, Millennia HV3C MTP standard, ADL600 stock tubes, Neumann V472, Rupert Neve Portico 5012 Portsilk with silk engaged, Siemens V72 tube preamp, Telefunken V72 solid state preamp, Telefunken V72 Tube preamp, SSL VHD clean 1-5 THD, Tonelux MP1a TwinValve clean-driven, SPL TwinTube driven + saturated, Universal Audio 4110, Tubetech MP1A stock tubes, vintage Soviet tubes, vintage Siemens and Telefunken tubes, Vintech 1272, and Manley VoxBox clean, mid, driven.

Henry Olonga
Neumann: KM54, U-47, U-67, U-87, M-149. Gefel M930, Royer 121, AKG C-12, Telefunken ELAM M-270, RCA 44 ribbon.
Preamps: Helios, Neve 1073, AMEK 9098. Yes, if I get the jing I'm going for the 96Khz sale.

I don't think there is any technology in audio that is so important, because:

1. Some of the original hardware is an endangered species.
2. Over time our ears expect certain instruments so show-up in certain niches in the sound spectrum.
3. Producers have long lamented it takes a long time to find the Mic > Pre > Compressor > EQ when you're tracking, as it involves plugging hardware all day. Now it's click (listen), clck (listen) and very fluid.
4. It can obviously help people make informed choices before spending $$$ on hardware.
5. FUN! Gimme an F... gimme a U.. gimme an N!

That Hopi put his technical brilliance into the eye candy helps one relate to the ear candy within.
Whatta guy. You too Richie. Storm coming... I'll tend to the outside for a bit.

p.s. I still hope one of them will sample a SONY c800g But like they say, a U87 will do for now

-UPDATE- Yeah every one of your skins tried so far work on latest Nebula3 Free Win x64 1.3.602
VERY COOL of course, yer on a roll...

OSX latest version is Nebula3 Free x86 x64 1.3.608 and it definitly works on any skin of yours.

One minor note (if you have both x64 & x86 Reapers and Nebulas on the same machine), if you use Reaper OSX x64 and Nebula x64 (with any skin), you know how when you click on the project-saved-icon it sometimes wants to open Reaper x86 and have Nebula through the x86 bridge? The "Show UI" panels show-up and the skins still work, but they are quick to go back to Show UI mode.

Oh nice Joey! Thanks for that info.

Perhaps at some point, one of you guys who can stomach the forum over there might like to post some links to them for the curious neb users???

fyi, it has taken me awhile to get with and really understands the skin making process, it's features and limitations but I'm pretty close now...

so I'm combining a few of my learnings in yet another skin package..

It is not quite ready yet but it will be a mix of the smaller GUI size with simple clear 288 frame knobs [because they take up less space than sliders and still function well], stereo meters instead of just one meter for both sides, and will also be a 'named' series like the mini black series where there will be a set of GUI's each with a preset type name on it.
..oops ..gotta run, or I'll be late for the NSMA meeting.

OK then here we go... Newest set of a Named series of GUI's.
I think this is my favorite now and will be the set I mostly use.
It is called s3Xy cuz I think it is
Stereo IN and OUT meters, 288 frame png stacks on the parameter knobs for fine adjustment with your mouse wheel.

The downloads are on the stash here:

https://stash.reaper.fm/19350/HOPI%20...0Skins%201.rar

https://stash.reaper.fm/19351/HOPI%20...0Skins%202.rar

https://stash.reaper.fm/19352/HOPI%20...0Skins%203.rar

Each download contains 9 of the skins and a pdf readme file.
You do not have to have all the rar's to use them.. each rar is it's own little package.

Here is how it looks:

What you see above is the 'EMPTY' or un-named skin
Each of the named skins has a preset category in the area where you see BYPASSED
for example, COMPRSSOR or REVERBS, etc.
Of course you on see BYPASSED when the plugin is ... [wait for it...] bypassed

EDIT:

Here is an example of what you see when not bypassed, with the named GUI for EQ's

yes hopi,
nice ones, again.

actualy,the
"preset category in the area where you see BYPASSED
for example, COMPRSSOR or REVERBS, etc."
is empty here.
Unless it is [you name it...] bypassed.

the category shows up only then - blue,
covered by the expected word - gold.

yes my mistrake... I up'd the wrong files that were not finished correctly
I have just replaced them with the good ones and the links are now correct...
PLEASE throw away what you got and get these fresh ones... they will work properly...

sorry for the error but I can get a little lost sometimes with the versions and such that I keep.

I'm glad you like it and I'm sure you'll like it better when you have the new ones!
