Walter - Syntax Highlighting Colors for Notepad ++
I just made an UDL file (User Define Language] for Walter (rtconfig.txt) in Notepad ++
This way you can have a clear syntax highlighting to edit your theme very ergonomicly
I personally use the Blackboard Theme, so, the backgrounds are set to the color of that dark theme, but you can edit the UDL file to match your theme. You just have to edit the language file :P
EDIT : i just add a style for white default theme in the .zip
I don't know if i made it very semanticly but it seems to works like a charm :P
You can download my file here :
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19339/ReaperUDL.zip
Then, in Notepad ++, choose language, user, and import it in your config
Note : A reboot of Notepad ++ can be necessary after importing the UDL files. Then, open you rtconfig.txt file and choose Language : Reaper.
For those who don't want to download the file, you can have a nice synthax highlighting with the Assembler language, but it's is not Walter Specific, so it's not perfect :P
Hope you'll like it !

don't hesitate to edit it
i colored differently numbers, operation signs, tcp - mcp - trans - envcp - master, [], theme names, commment etc...
once again, you have to used Blackboard Theme to see it nicely without make any changes.

Thank you all !
Because you feel very interested, i just add an UDL file for white (default) background
but i strongly recommend you to use the dark one (with the Blackboard Theme in Notepad ++), your eyes will be less tired
i also add the .xml extension.
A reboot of Notepad ++ can be necessary after importing the UDL files.

Thanks DoomLike,
Downloaded the file and it comes as "Reaper" with no extension. Tried putting .xml, but it fails to import under Language>Define Your Language>Import - any ideas?

hmmm effectively, the file extension updated i will recreate an entry for that file.
EDIT : Here it is https://stash.reaper.fm/v/19339/ReaperUDL.zip
The new UDL files have .xml extensions.
Import are usually effective after restarting notepad ++.
It will now appears in your language panel at the bottom.
If it doesn't work, try to import, and then save to an other name.
Still in trouble ? Have you pop up message or something ?

I just finished my theme using your syntax and it proved to be very useful indeed. I found some typos that I would have missed otherwise. I can't believe I have used the regular notepad for Waltering before. Your syntax and Notepad ++ makes things a little bit easier.
Thank you!!!

I'm so glad it works and you like it
if you are new to Notepas ++, it will not make theming a little easier but A LOT. Syntax highlighting is good, but Document Map, Line Number, Replace window overlay and results highlight, Compare documents function, side by side view, indentation of selected text and a few more things can save you a lot of time a make theme coding really fun

I must say, I have taken a real liking to the blackboard version of this. In fact, I think I'll start using blackboard for all my NotePad++ stuff now too. It is indeed much better on the eyes.
Nice work DoomLike. Much appreciated.

osx rtconfig editor
oh ! good to see that OSX users have an alternative.
i didn't know that editor, is it based on something else ?
what particular functions except syntax highlighting and 'go to' buttons have a dedicated software to offer ?
Sad notepad ++ doesn't exist on mac.

@Icchan
Not really, there is some new keywords but they don't need any color to be easily seen

Question: I tried to add code folding to this, using Layout and EndLayout as the keywords, but on the Default 5 theme's rtconfig it puts the folding points on the wrong lines.
If I type a new set of "Layout" and "EndLayout" myself, it works properly - only White Tie's existing WALTER breaks it.
Any guesses as to why this might happen?

Hello,
for text editing I found the solarized theme to be the one for me. For more details about the colour scheme:
http://ethanschoonover.com/solarized
So I edited your UDL file to be compatible with the solarized- light theme in Notepad++
Attached as zip. Have fun.

Reason: emphazed that I mean the light theme
