Default Solo track without hearing sidechain input?!

Title says it all, cant seem to figure this out...

I have a stereotrack wich has a SC input on input 3/4. Only ch 1/2 goes out to my HW output. When soloing this track I only wanna hear ch 1/2 and not the side chain input aswell.

I have tried exclusive solo and solo ignoring routing but its all the same.

To clarify, yes I want to hear the sidechain working on the track, but not hear the sidechain input signal together with the actual track getting sidechained.
If its not possible to monitor a sidechained track in solo as it sounds in the mix then I think its a currect design flaw in reaper.

I guess you made some mistake in your routing.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what's going on. I have always found that the situation you want to hear is in fact REAPER's default behavior.

Two possibilities come to mind. Is there a problem either with the plug-in that you are side-chaining (you don't say what it is), or with your routing?

Possibly a little more information might help.

?

So you want to solo a track that is receiving the sidechain but without the side chain (FX) and hear the the side chain FX solo without the track it is being side chanined to at the same time?

Why not just route the track that is sending to the side chain to a seperate empty track? And then solo that against the receiving track?

Like this.
Let say two tracks:

Track 1 is a kick.
Track 2 is a synth.
Sending track 1 to track 2 on ch 3-4.
Track 2 have a compressor with SC input 3-4.
Compressor triggers fine to the SC input.

When soloing track 2 track 1 is not muted because it sends to track 2. Muting track 1 cuts the SC send, soloing track 2 with exclusive solo doesnt work either (and shouldnt probably).

So basically the only currect way to solo a track with a sidechain input and hear what the sidechain is doing is to send the SC via another track (lets say track 3) and turn that tracks fader to zero, sending the SC pre fader.

Correct?

Can't reproduce. Here track 1 is getting "muted" but still sending to the sidechain.

Got it:

You have routed the Kick directly to a hardware output.

Confirmed. I would call this a bug. With just internal software routing this doesn't happen.

Dstruct! Yes you got it there, this breaks this whole routing thing. Will file a bug report.
