Default Please make separate tempo and time signature envelopes

Right now Reaper share tempo and time signature on the same envelope. Wouldn't it be nice to have both use a separate envelope or track like in Cubase ?

The reason I ask you this, is that when you insert different time signatures, you can't really set a global tempo anymore, or I didn't manage to do so.

cheers,

Hans

Select all the points on the tempo map envelope, and drag the whole thing.

Also, there is even an action, "Adjust entire tempo envelope"

It seems it would be better if it was possible to separate them. Do time sigs need to be part of an envelope at all?

It makes gradual tempo transitions across time sig markers more laborious too. The SWS action to shift points up/down on one side is wrecking the time sig markers/envelope here. Is there another way to adjust ramp through several time sigs?

thanks, this would be really helpful...

a behaviour like Cubase or in Logic, with Tempo and Time signatures easily stacked (or freely stacked) would be very useful.

What if time signatures were just a kind of marker?

What if we could just name a marker '=3/4' to insert?

As FnA said: tempo ramps across meter changes are practically impossible in the current system.

Meter doesn't change continuously and doesn't have values that can be mapped from 0 to 1 so a signature envelope is a kludge.
