Default MIDI note name files not merging (FIXED)

This isn't working:

"When loading from the recent file list, hold Shift with this command to merge
imported names with existing note names rather than replace them."

I know there have been different ways to accomplish this through different versions. I couldn't find any key or key combination that worked.

v5.211, Windows 7

BTW, the quotation is taken from the REAPER user guide:

Quote:
Load note names for active channel..., Load note names for all channels.... Select either of these options, then choose From file... to browse for your required file. Recently used files will also be displayed on the menu. When loading from the recent file list, hold Shift with this command to merge imported names with existing note names rather than replace them.

Notice there is an option to Clear existing note names before loading.
I can't get it to work either, but I don't know whether it a bug in REAPER or an error in the user guide. (Or perhaps an old feature that was removed?)

Having a feature to merge note names would be useful.

Default merging midi note names

It's a misprint now. It used to work but stopped about three versions back.
