Default Audio Dropout after undo command

It seems to be a reproducible bug. Every time I hit the command to 'undo' I get an audio dropout and my video file freezes for a second. This happens on small or large sessions on a very powerful machine. This type of drop out does not happen in Cubase, Protools or Abelton when testing on the same machine with the same audio card preferences.

I'm wondering if it is a preference setting in Reaper that could be exacerbating the audio engine to spike?

You bring up a good point about the monitors. Perhaps the visual redraw of the undo is causing a spike in the audio engine.

Here's my four monitor setup:

2 x 2k 22inch touch screens for the mixer.
1 x 4k 40 inch for the arrange
1 x 1080p 55 inch TV for picture.

I run these on an AMD W7100 FirePro 8GB Graphics card. The specs for the card say that it can support 4 x 4k displays.

In preferences under Appearance Settings I have the UI Update setting on 'Fast Always'. I can do some testing to see if that setting affects the dropouts.

Computer Specs:

Windows 10 Enterprise
Reaper (latest pre-release updated today)
2 x Intel Xeon E52687 v4 3.0Ghz 12 Core (24 Cores - 48 with hyper threading turned on)
128 GB of RAM
7TB Hardware Raided SSD for Samples
1 x 500GB SSD for the OS
3 x 500GB Software Raid SSDs for the Project and Picture Drive

i was asking about your monitor setup because whenever i get audio dropout with any software with video playback or editing, i found dual monitors or external monitor if on a laptop to be an issue. so to diagnose your problem, i would see if the monitor setup is causing audio dropouts.

but you say it is fine with other software, so maybe it is reaper itself with an issue.
