Default This project freezes Reaper (FIXED)

I don't know how it happened, but I ended up with a project file that freezes Reaper when you open the action menu.
  1. Download and open this project file https://stash.reaper.fm/30362/OpenActionListFreeze.rpp
  2. Close the action list window, if it is opened or docked somewhere
  3. Open the Action Window -> Freeze

It can be fixed by setting the option "Show grid, line spacing:" to a value from the list. I don't know how it got set to zero.
Anyway, it shouldn't freeze Reaper.

DL'ed and opened. It doesn't freeze Reaper here, all systems are go. Sp there might be something in your settings that does not play well with this project. I have the Actions list docked, maybe that is a significant difference?

Can you close the action window and try to open it again?

I tested it again. When you have the action list opened before opening the project, Reaper stays normal. However, when I close the action list and open it again, Reaper freezes.

Still happening with v5.4.

Please note, you need to have the action list closed before opening this project.

Confirmed. Reaper freezes if this project is loaded with the Action List closed but will not freeze Reaper if the Action List is open. However, having loaded the project successfully, if you then close and re-open the Action List, Reaper freezes again

Thanks for trying this out and confirming.
I updated the first post to include the instruction to close the action list window.

Looks like it is reaper_sws that causes the hang, fixing there and adding some sanitization to reaper to prevent it as well.

The UI won't let you enter a grid size of 0, perhaps a script did it?

Justin, you are right: you cannot enter the value 0.

I don't know how I got the 0 into that field but I just discovered one method (there may be more). Just use the action "Grid: Adjust by 1/2" multiple times and you will get a 0 into that field.
I guess there are more ways to get a zero into that field.
