Default Line6 Floorboard to run midi commands on Reaper

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm totally stupid but I am planning to test using Reaper with free plugins (7170, 8505, cab sims, fx etc.) as my main guitar rig.

I wish to have the capability to change presets (a.k.a. tracks on Reaper) manually with a foot controller.

I have Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd gen) as an usb interface where I connect my guitar. I build the desired presets on their own dedicated tracks on Reaper. Now, I know I can make the presets change automatically in the project with SWS add-on but I would love to change the presets with my Line6 floorboard. The floorboard uses rj-45 as connection to L6 amplifier and I can already imagine my computer and Reaper can't "smell" the floorboard if I connect it to the laptop's rj-45 socket.

Any suggestions and/or ideas how to work with the situation?

I don't know the Floorboard, but it looks like it's using a proprietary POE (power over ethernet) protocol which can't be converted to MIDI: http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/36057/

I have a Line 6 FBV floorboard, and it has a USB connector that you would use for MIDI control. The Ethernet port is definitely only for connecting to Line 6 devices. I believe he floorboard is class-compliant and will show up in Preferences -> MIDI Devices.
