Knob Mode not functioning properly on VST3 plugins (FIXED)

Type of issue:

Behaviour contrary to documentation
Undocumented changes that do not work contrary to expectation or marketing.
Issues with plugins when the developer explicitly states compatibility with the current version of REAPER.

System Specifications

OS Version: macOS 10.13.6
REAPER Version: 5.93

Description of issue:

Expected behaviour: Changing Preferences->Plug-Ins->VST->Knob Mode to "Linear" to make the knob motion linear.
What actually occurs: Knob mode does not change the function on VST3 plugins properly, but works on the VST version of the the same plugin.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

Dowload the demo of https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/p...sl_4000_e.html
Change the Knob Mode to Linear
Attempt to use the knobs in the VST and VST3 versions

Peer Pressure:

Every other DAW I've tried does this correctly with VST3 plugins. It either defaults to linear motion on VST3s or allows proper adjustment of the knob mode.

I have these issues as well in OSX using VST3 and VST plugins. Same experience.

Same thing. Plugin Alliance bx_console insists on circular control. I can't work like this.

I have just purchased bx_console 4000 e and the knobs are controlled in circular mode.
How do I switch to linear? It's unusable this way.

VST3 version of the plugin has that problem.
VST is fine.
