Errors with ReaPack on old Mac
Hi there,
I'd like to try some of the scripts in ReaPack, but it's throwing errors. When I click 'Browse Packages', I get this error:
Code:
https://github.com/ReaTeam/ReaScripts/raw/master/index.xml:
SSL connect error (35): error:1407742E:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert protocol version

When I click 'About ReaPack', I get this error:
Code:
https://reapack.com/index.xml:
SSL connect error (35): error:14077410:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure
ReaPack: 1.1.2 (32 bit)
REAPER: 5.979 (32 bit)
Mac OSX 10.7.5
My Mac is very old, so I suspect that's the problem, even though ReaPack says it supports OSX 10.7+.
Does anyone know a solution?
Thanks very much.

Hi ayskura,
I never got this working properly - I feel your pain.
However, I did manage to get ReaPack installed and working by using the Import offline archive feature, but that involves using another computer that already has ReaPack installed. - On the other computer, choose Manage Repositories from the ReaPack menu
- Click the Import/Export button, choose Export offline archive, and save the file onto a USB stick.
- On the target computer, follow the same procedure, but Import offline archive from the USB stick instead.
- Restart REAPER
My two macs are not the same spec or OS, but they're both 32bit, and it seems to work ok for me, so far.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Hi LugNut,
To continue your OT (sorry ayskura), I can't believe you've still got that floppy! No idea where mine went, but I do still have the Creator dongle and the Unitor hardware somewhere. No ST though. I loved Creator at the time, and the Atari. Those MIDI ports...
Made quite a few records back then with just Creator, a few bits of MIDI hardware and a sampler with 2Mb of memory. You don't *need* much more for electronic music really, but the progression has been fun.
Cheers.
