Default Volume Automation Suddenly Wrong Values?! (FIXED)

After doing some hunting, I've discovered that if I change "Volume Envelope Range" in Envelope Display (Pref) that all volume automation items in sessions saved before the adjustment change values!!!

Is there anyway to adjust the range without screwing up every single past session that was made before the adjustment? Is this a bug?! Seems really bad in it's current state, unless I'm missing something.

I don't believe that is the case. Could you please give steps to reproduce what you are seeing?

1.) make an automation item on volume.

2.) save session

3.) close session and adjust Envelope Display Range (under Preferences)

4.) open saved session

See below:

Confirmed, that is a dreadful bug that affects saved projects with automation items on volume envelopes. We are working on the best way to fix this. Thanks for the report.

Thanks for looking into/addressing.

While I have your attention, I'd like to point you to another (possible) bug report I (and others) have been trying to get attention on as far back as 2008 (links to many other forum posts provided). See current bug report post here:

(Auto-crossfades not working as described in Takes mode)

Would you care to test the new prerelease build and see if it fixes this issue for you?

Envelope display range bug seems to be resolved! Thank you very much!

Furthermore, I'm updating my other post about the auto-crossfade option not having any effect in Takes mode with a quick illustrative gif:
