Performance optimization with displayed text items (FIXED)

Hi,


The more Text items (empty items with a notes in it) are visible on the arrange view,
the more the arrange view will lag.


With 1000 items it is very noticeable and with 3000 more (my case) it is extra slow.


I noticed that deleting the notes makes the arrange view smooth again.


Thing is that it could be optimized IMHO as none of these items have visible text when zoom out. The FR can be summarized as: don't try to render text if text items isn't wide enough on the arrange view.


Take a look, with this 30 minutes subtitling project (two languages, and two versions of subs so nothing extraordinary).





Note considering the GIF framerate, difference is even more obvious in real usage, from 4fps to 60 (approx).

I noticed the same with markers and regions, if you have thousands of them(usually after importing srt-files using the SWS-actions).
Maybe the same problem?

If the problem with text items isn't solved in v6.01, perhaps you can mention it in the pre-release forum too.
