Default Import a note name file, often cause project to crash (FIXED)

It has been discovered since 6.03, and the current 6.04 version will do the same. When importing a TXT file, the project crashed directly. However, sometimes it can be imported normally.

I uploaded the TXT file, please refer to it.

Thank you!

Are you double-clicking or single-clicking the txt file?

single-clicking.

I downloaded the latest version of REAPER and retested. Import the note name and use single-clicking to make two consecutive errors.

In a few cases, the import file is valid, but in most cases it fails. When the project is halfway through, a new note name file needs to be loaded, and the entire project suddenly crashes.

Only keep trying to load until the load is successful.

Is it OK in versions before 6.03? Including v5.something

You can just install the previous version over the current one. then after testing, reinstall the latest version.

This is really odd and something like it was reported previously. Clearly REAPER is trying to load the note name file as a project. In the gif you see the prompt to save the current project before loading, which is not at all part of the note name process. But the note name loading dialog is titled properly, so it appears that it's windows explorer, rather than REAPER, that initiates the loading process.

In fact, if you disable Preferences > General > Check for multiple instances when launching, you will probably see a whole new REAPER instance open when this happens. It seems like it's a Windows setting that is triggering this behavior.

Aha .. I've managed to reproduce it. it happens when you drag the .txt file a little bit from within the load dialog. This may be something we can prevent.
