Hi all.
When I set a point value for a volume envelope, it does it in real time, and leaves a trail of destruction. If I have a point at say 14.4.12, and want to move it to 23.4.12, as soon as I type in "2" in the first section, the point moves to 2.4.12. Then as the "3" of "23" is typed in, the point heads towards the desired position, but leaves a 2nd point at 2.4.12. The OK button has no relevance, as the changes are occurring in real time. Right now, it's unworkable. Is there a preference setting which I'm not getting? Thanks, Ski Spiggy |

I'm manually setting points for a pan envelope and as I type in the position, many of my previous points are wiped out as the current point follows the value I type in.
I've tried de-arming the the envelope, bypassing the envelope,... nothing seems to stop the destruction. My current work-around is to paste the value in. But I should be able to type values in without wreaking havoc on existing points. e0R |

The original title is a little misleading, since this is about manually changing point *position*, not value.
This isn't something I've ever needed to do myself, but I did a little experimenting out of curiosity, and indeed the way it works seems problematic. I also thought of trying if the preference "Prevent mouse edits of single envelope points from moving past other envelope points" has any effect on this. And boy, with that *disabled*, it gets even more bizarre. I'm seeing envelope lines literally doing impossible loops! EDIT: scratch that, I'm now occasionally seeing these weird out of order points with that preference enabled as well, so it may have been unrelated. This seems like rather buggy behaviour, indeed.

Another issue I noticed is that if you hit 'cancel' in the set point value dialogue, it doesn't appear to reset other affected points.

The latest pre-release builds should address this bug (which has existed forever). If you'd care to try it out and give feedback: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=22836
