Default Automation Questions?

Question 1: I was wondering if there was a way to copy and paste automation. For example, say I have a 16 bar loop and I automate the panning for four bars. If I wanted to use the exact same automation for the rest of the 16 bar loop (basically 3 more 4 bar copies of the first original 4 bar automation) is this possible, or would I have to just do the automation for all 16 bars?

Question 2: I looked through the automation setting and didn't see a place for automation of the solo button. Is it possible to automate the solo for a track like you can with the mute button?

Q1: yes you can:
- make sure that the Pan envelope is visible and selected,
- right-click and drag through the first four bars to select all the points you want to copy
- click at bar 5 to reposition the cursor
- check the Pan envelope is stil selected
- Ctrl+v
- click at bar 9, Ctrl+v
... and so on.

Q2: No,
Solo will play the track with any other soloed tracks.
Why not use Mute with the envelope "upside-down"?

Darkstar, thanks for the reply. I tried out the envelope copying technique you mentioned and it worked perfect. Thanks for the help. I am a little confused with what you meant about inverting the mute envelope for the solo feature. I believe i've seen an action to invert the envelope. How would I use this to mimic the solo automation

It was a poor joke. Oops

I was just thinking that you could picture the Solo envelope in your mind, invert it mentally then program in the inverted envelope.

I don't think there's an "invert envelope" function"

... **** me - yes there is:

- make the Mute envelope visible
- create the envelope for the Solo you want
- select all the envelope points

- show the Actiion List
- filter for "invert"
- select "envelope: invert selected points"
- click [Run]

Another kind of automation question.

I have activated volume-automation on a track. Selected it to be visible, added some points, all fine and well. (the volume in the mixer got a green background). Now i want to remove the volume-automation, but it doesn't work. I have tried deactive for all volumetypes but the volume-slider background stays green.

Any suggestions?

Update: Well I solved it. The trick seems to be to first select all events, then delete them, then de-activate automated volume.
