Render meters shows wrong signal for mono stems (FIXED)
==================================================
UPDATE: CONFIRMED the problem is with Tracks with only mono media to mono files where the track is panned right – because the meters in the render window for mono tracks are only showing the L channel signal instead of a summed mono signal.
==================================================
This happens every time I render drums. Output file is just fine, but the OH-R meter is always dead when rendering stems.
UPDATE: Tried changing the track name to see if it made difference - it doesn't.
MacOS 10.15.7
MacBook Pro (16-in, 2019), 2.4GHz 8-Core i9 w/ 32GB 2667MHz DDR4 RAM
Reaper 6.26 (has been happening as far as I can remember (6.xx))

My guess is that the render meter shows the first channel from Reaper, which would be the left channel, and your track might be panned 100% to the right?

Just to check: the actual file is properly rendered?

Yes, it seems to be only a graphical issue.

Ok, let's try something.
Create a project in which you paste the drumtrack in question numerous times, so you have the same number of tracks but they all are the problematic drumtrack.
Then render it out like the other project with stems and such.
Do all tracks have now these visual glitches or just one of them?
This will help figuring out, if something in your drumtrack could cause the bug or if it's only one of the shown meters being buggy.

Ok, now one last test to see, if the audiofile is the problem or track-settings.
Delete all items from this new project but keep the tracks.
Now drag n drop the audiofiles into the project again, so you have all of them inserted, including git, bass, drums, etc.
Now rerender again and see, whether all meters still have the problem again, or only the track that holds now the problematic OH-R-drumtrack.

Ah-ha! The problem is with Tracks with only mono media to mono files where the track is panned right – because the meters in the render window for mono tracks are only showing the L channel signal instead of a summed mono signal.
I started from scratch, created new tracks rendered ST NOISE and exploded onto mono tracks. Additionally, I made tracks using Freeze Mono.
This also explains why the last few TOMS tracks in my template exhibit gradually lower signal (though this was less conspicuous since I have gates on those tracks and there was still some signal).

It's actually not a bug, it's because you're rendering many tracks at the same time it has space to show the left channel. But I agree that this behaviour could be improved, either with an option to always show both channel or with kind of mono sum meter.

No – as you can see in the screen captures, it has no problem showing stereo channels, and any truncation only occurs at the bottom of the window where tracks exceed the window size. Furthermore, since it properly shows a single channel for mono tracks as would be expected, yet the displayed signal is that of a St-L channel rather than a summed mono appropriate for a mono track, it is clearly unintended behavior and thus a design mistake/oversight which I consider a bug.

Yeah, this has frightened me several times. Been this way for ages.
Always happens on any mono source that's panned hard right.
Thought I had done something wrong, but the resulting files were fine after checking.
Aware of it now so it doesn't really bother me, but it can scare a few newbs quite easily and should be fixed.

It’s a problem for me because I render 24bit stems so would really like to know if there’s any clipping.

See 6.28rc1,which should fix the issue.
