When I select a portion of an item with the razor selection, and when I duplicate or move it, the content of the selection shifts as I move it. Maybe I have changed something in the actions or mouse modifiers, but I checked, and found nothing.
Here is a video capture : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W7e...ew?usp=sharing Last edited by benes; 04-20-2021 at 06:56 AM. |

gradual tempo changes, midi items, and razor edits aren't quite in harmony yet.

The tempo don't change gradually, but suddenly, with a time/signature marker And the area I've selected is AFTER the tempo change. I don't understand why there is desynchronization. When I select the same area with the classic way, there is no problem. This new razor tool is very strange.

interesting, i thought i saw your grid lines warp over time there.
as an experiment, delete your tempo changes and try the RE again. if the start in source doesn't change, you've found reproducible steps for the bug. the new razor edit tool is wonderful, but there are a million contingencies to deal with. i have found that tempo changes in particular often tease out some of the last bugs in a number of features.

Indeed it's about the tempo change.
I did a new video capture to show the problem. Note that the same thing happens if the MIDI item starts AFTER the tempo change. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MOD...ew?usp=sharing On the other hand I have no problem with audio items |

Hm, I'm not able to reproduce that behavior. Would you mind posting a small project that demonstrates the problem, along with your reaper.ini file?

The reaper.ini file would be helpful then, since there is something non-default about your setup that is apparently triggering this behavior.

Ok, I did that, but I don't know how to find the .ini file

On Windows, the file will usually be at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\REAPER.ini.

OK, thanks for the information.
The two files are attached to this reply For example, the bug occurs when I select the item (with razor) from 1.3 to 2.3, then copy or even move the area. |

Thanks! There are a few odd things about the project (the MIDI items are pooled, and there are actually 3 items on the track, the 2nd is very small), but the cause of the odd behavior is that the project timebase (File > Project Settings) is set to "time", so the MIDI items are not adjusted properly when razor editing. We'll fix this, thanks for the report.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. I'll be careful to the project timebase

in case it wasn't noticed, i'd like to point out that copy/pasting REs (instead of ctrl-click-dragging) behaves the way we see in benes' report, even when the project timebase is beats (p/l/r).
![]() the 2nd track's RE-selected midi has been glued and does not display the incorrect behavior
