However, I do NOT want the entire track to be fully colored once it is selected. Hope that makes sense.
Like many of the other theme features, this ls a graphic element, so you'd need to unzip the theme and replace the files involved. If I have a moment, maybe I can identify which files those are.

Thanks for this theme, currently checking out if it'll be my new default theme.

But I have a slight (personal) issue:
I notice that when items are selected the waveform seems to get slightly bigger, is this intended? Doesn't seem the case in the default v6 theme.
Tbh it irritates me a bit (actually so much that it could be a showstopper for me) because in the project im currently doing (editing interviews) I need to check if the room tones match in volume and it makes it harder if the waveform gets bigger/smaller (even if only slightly) depending on item selection state.

edit:
Sorry, found it, can be turned off by disabling "Draw edges on peaks".

I'm glad you figured it out, it definitely wasn't a "feature" of the theme.

Let me know how you get on with it, I've been using this theme as my one-and-only daily driver for months now and am still really happy with it, so much so that I haven't felt the need to do any tweaking since the last release.

But of course I am open to suggestions, if there are blind spots.

Ok since you ask... :P

I find it a bit unhandy that the edit/play cursor is (almost?) the same color as stretch markers.
With lots of SMs inserted (I sometimes have) I sometimes struggle to find the cursor at a glance (only a niggle though).

Use the TWEAK action and change the color of the cursor. It's easy.

Thanks, I know.
I understood sockmonkey's question rather as suggestions for tweaks of the default theme settings though.

And indeed, that's how it was meant. I'll make some tweaks to stretch marker color for the next update, thank you!

I just pushed a new release: v1.6 is here.

The most significant changes over the v1.5.1-beta series involve adding/improving support for embedded plugin interfaces in the TCP, as well as some default color tweaks and overall tightening up. Enjoy and let me know if you run into any issues.

When trying to import repository I get the error

Download failed: Timeout was reached (28): Connection timeout after 15000 ms
https://github.com/jeremybernstein/R...main/index.xml

Might be just a temporary github thing.

This theme's not in my ReaPack repos anyway, but I suspect it's just a github hiccup, that file's reachable for me.

Stretch marker default color is fine now imo.
Thanks.

Btw. how about distributing the theme via ReaPack, so one wouldn't have to watch this thread for updates?

I actually didn't realize that you could put a theme on ReaPack. I'll investigate.

Thanks for pointing this out. Peace_MOD is now on my ReaPack (link below).

I'll continue announcing (infrequent) updates here, but you can get 'em automagically by syncing ReaPack.

I'm really liking this theme. In the Mixer view, would it be possible to have the track name appear at the bottom of the mixer channel instead of it being at the top?

OK, now that I poked at this, I sort of remember why I never changed it. Here's a pic of how it looks without any graphics adjustments (the track name background obviously would need to be redesigned):

The problem with this arrangement is that the area at the very bottom of the mixer strip can get squished and pushed below the application window/dock margins when docked:

At that point, no one is being served. At least with the current arrangement, you can always know that your track name is at the same vertical position, no matter what else is happening.

I think I'm going to bookmark this for "maybe something to revisit at some point, eventually", but on the basis of this quick prototype, I don't feel like it's a project that's going to leave me satisfied at the end, given the time I have to devote to it. If I had endless amounts of time, I would attempt to tackle the squishing first via the graphic elements and guide lines and then think about shifting the arrangement of elements around.

Default Tighter TCP and Pan & Width improvements

Hey, thank you again so much for all your help in the original Peace Theme thread.

I was able to make tweak the theme 95% to my liking. There's still 2 areas where your theme is superior and I'd love to be able to integrate them into own mods.

First, I love how you tightened the TCP on the right side to lessen the gap when stretching. Is that a margin or did you move buttons attachements to the right? Could tell me what line defines this gap in rtcongig.ini?

Secondly, I really like your pan and width visuals. I like the additional graphical reference it gives. Can I just copy and past a code for this?

And lastly, I love the upgraded embedded on TCP, I mostly embed my plugins in MCP but sometimes I like them on the TCP for quickly stretching the UI. Not a priority but would be nice to have.

Thanks again!

I couldn't leave it alone. I think I have a good solution, but it will take some time to add this switcheroo as an option to every layout (sigh).

This does look good. And I'm in the camp of track names at the bottom of the MCP. Just makes for quicker viewing and workflow IMO.

Still the best theme around and I use it daily. So thanks for any enhancements.

Try this out. Also available as a beta release on ReaPack.

I'm not 100% convinced about how the "end of folder" icon collides with the track label, but everything else looks really good to me, and this is the way I'll use the theme, as well.

The track label covers up the folder icon a bit, but this is exactly what I was looking for.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant with the "collision" in my post. How about this, looks a little cleaner, although it's somewhat less obvious.

OK, that was the end-of-folder marker. You're talking about the "show/hide children" button. Let me see if I can make a "slim" version of that...

This would be another option, which I don't find that objectionable, either.

Me, too. I like it so much that I might reverse the theme logic to make name-on-bottom the default. That had always annoyed me, but I didn't want to be bothered to make those changes.

Now that they are made, it is clearly much better IMO. Any dissents?

Any opinions on the end-of-folder graphic? I'm getting along well with the "rounded" look, which I think is both clearer and easier on the eyes vs the "dark corner". But reasonable people can disagree. Let me know...

Default Mod the mod

Hi,

After trying to mod the original Peace theme, I almost got it exactly where I wanted but never got how to have panning and width working like in here.

So I guess I'll redo all my work from this already great upgraded version of Peace.

I'm running into an odd issue though... When ever I unzip, mod and rezip, then the theme does not work. It ends up totally messed up and broken. Why is that?

Thanks,

EDIT : Nevermind I did not realise I needed to zip all the files. I always only zipped the folder. I dont really get why but I guess I dont need to. It works.

For development you don't need to zip it up at all. Just put the ReaperTheme file next to the Peace_MOD folder and you'll be fine.

This is a solid theme. Can I do some nitpicking. I rely on metering probably more than I should. Would it be possible to have the green, yellow, and red meters even when we are not in record arm mode? The blue metering color is hard to get use too. Lastly, any plans on making the theme scalable like the original reaper theme? I find the 150% mixer panel works well on my 4k screen. The rounded end of the folder looks fine to me.

I can look at the metering, but no promises.

Scalability is a thing, I don't have hi-res versions of the graphics to work from, and I have neither the time nor the skill set to do some sort of computer assisted upscaling. I asked Ice Cold Milk for any hi-res originals a while back, but never received an answer.

So that's that - I would also like sharper graphics on my retina display, but I will probably be disappointed. If someone here is good at this sort of thing and wants to take the time, I'll do the backend work.
