Old theme item bg bad behaviour since v 6.54

Hi!

I use old custom theme which I like and comfortable with. This theme uses semitransparent item backgrounds. It was useful to deal with them since items were all visible even when placed one over another or crossfaded.

Since v 6.54 something has changed. Reaper seem not to understand transparency anymore. Item covered by another item is not visible and it's rather uncomfortable.

What can be done to get it work as it was before v 6.54? Maybe it can be fixed by some preference setting?

I miss this option too.
At the moment I'm just using a theme from version 5.
But I would be happy if this would also work in the current version.

We should be able to restore this behavior for the next build. Please note though, this display mode does come with a slight performance cost.

confirm: 6.58+dev023a returns the old behaviour.

what can be done to the oldschool theme to keep this behaviour with the new code?
