WMF decoder green screen issue
When using the WMF decoder, I don't see the video properly. Switching to the VLC decoder seems to fix it.
Please see this video: https://youtu.be/dnpBHjagrPc Here is the video properties: Using v6.58 on Windows. Last edited by valankar; 05-22-2022 at 06:52 AM. |

Can you share a link to the source video? (We need to know the specifics of the source media that the decoder is failing on.)

Here ya go:
http://valankar.pontus.feralhosting.com/source.mkv It is about 800Mb. I can probably make a shorter one if it's too large, just let me know. |

If it's easy to make a shorter one that would be helpful! Otherwise we can see what we can do with this.

Here's a shorter one, about 5MB:
http://valankar.pontus.feralhosting.com/source2.mkv Maybe related to the resolution. They are OBS recordings of a widescreen. |

Hmm, thanks. Internally, the file opens correctly and the decoder reports that everything is fine, it just doesn't decode any frames. I notice that Windows Media Player fails similarly, with no apparent error except that the frames are blank, which suggests the problem is on the Windows side, not REAPER.
We'll look to see if there is some way we can detect files that fail in this way and fall back to a different decoder. |
