Default Please make this a Sticky: JSFX "guide" is now available! Here's the link:

Hi everyrone,

I've created a "JSFX Guide" (which has been renamed), and it is all set to share!

So, without further ado, here's the link:

https://www.keithhaydon.com/Reaper/JSFX.pdf

Once again, I'd like give thanks to Jon Tidey (ReaperBlog) for his thoughts, and especially to BethHarmon for her support and positive energy!
(And also mschnell, DarkStar and Tukan Studios, too!)

Have fun!

Default Thank you for all the kind words!

Thank you so much for the kind words!

The Reaper community is pretty amazing and has (very patiently) contributed a -lot- to my own knowledge.
So, I'm glad I was able to do something worth sharing with you all.
It was a ton of work, but it was a 'labor of love"

Thanks again, for the kind words.

Peace,
Keith

Great job Keith, thanks!

Would it be OK please for me to include a link to this in the next REAPER User Guide update? That won't be for a couple of weeks 'cos I'm vavationing in sunny Queensland at the moment!

Thanks for sharing.

I would like to see Jonas mixing templates, its reverb fx replaced with Tukan Lexican variants for example. Just an update with better variants, if there are any, now. see https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=76671

Well I've already uncovered in this at least two really handy JS Plug-ins that I was previously unaware of. Anyone who wants to know what they are is advised to go digging into this worthy tome for themselves! 😉

Thanks for the suggestions.
I don't know anything about "Sticky", despite having seen the word in the title of some threads.
I'll have to look into that.

I tried to upload to "Stash", but file size limits make that impossible.

Glad you like it, though!

Peace,
Keith

Default JSFX "guide" is now available! (Please make this a sticky)

You can go up and edit your title Keith.

And I agree, it should be a sticky so that it's readily available to all.

Okay..
What the heck is a "tile"?

"Sticky"? I'm not sure how to find the place I need to be...nor do I have any idea what to do, once I get there.

Otherwise, I got this,.,

Yeah...I need some guidance, when you get a minute.
Thanks

Oops, a little misspelling on my part. I meant "title".

Keith, go to your first post at the top and click on the "Edit" button at the bottom of your post. It will open up you first post so you can edit it, including changing the title of the post.

Can you see the edit button?

Yes, I see the edit button...and see where I'm able to edit the initial post and title.

Now what? Are you suggesting I re-title as "Sticky: JSFX resources" -or something like that?

I did a "search for "Sticky" in the title...and frankly, I wasn't impressed with what I saw in the results.
Seems like a mess, but maybe I'm not understanding what a "sticky" is.
And there doesn't appear to be any place where one can go, to find out what a "sticky" is.

What difference would making it a "Sticky", anyway?
Will it allow me to upload the 7 meg .pdf file to the site?

I'm sure you see all the sticky posts at the top of all the threads.

If it's listed as a sticky, then it is not only readily available, but it's easier for folks to link too in their posts when it's necessary.

I, and I know others, think your pdf is worth it, it's a good source of information regarding JS plugins, something that has not been available until now, at least not that I know of.

I'm not sure who is in charge of the forums anymore, but if enough people ask for this to be a sticky, then it might happen, and then, I'm assuming, they would make this post of yours a sticky, of which you would be in charge.

At least I think that's the way it works Kieth, but if I'm wrong, maybe someone will have a straight answer.

You might have to split it up a bit in order for it all to go into the stash, I'm not sure.

If you'd like, I can accommodate your 7 meg pdf for now.

Sorry for slow reply...just came back from vacation.

So...all I need to do is re-name the title, so it begins with the word, "Sticky:" ?
Seems odd, and even a little maddening that there's no place to find out what a "Sticky" is. And, there -should be. Maybe we need a "How to navigate the Reaper website" sticky???)

You may put the pdf anywhere you like, as it was created in accordance with w/the general theme of "open source".

(*Not sure if this will create a possible conflict for future version numbers, by giving everyone access to the raw MS Word .doc file and allowing them to update, if they wish.
Hmm...

Peace,
K

A moderator needs to make the thread "sticky". You can't do it yourself, or trust me, I would have done it for my ReaClassical thread already

Thank you for the huge effort to pull this guide together.

It will be fun to sit and experiment more having read it rather than being ‘boggled’ at the list of effect names and muddling through.
