is the complaint that the automation jumps back to its original value when you stop recording? instead of staying at the position where you left it?
because yes, it is bad behavior. refer to the majority of my posts for the last 2 years

i didn't have the sound on - now i see that it looks like your automation stopped recording before you were ready?
in any case, this bug report needs a lot more explanation than you've given not sure why you had "regular" record mode enabled while you were running this demo - recording automation is a different mechanism than record and users don't need to trigger both unless they are attempting to record both at the same time
