Default Memory leak in 6.66 with Windows Media video encoder? (FIXED)

Had to quit REAPER today because it ate all my RAM after some hours. I only encoded videos with Windows Media video encoder - maybe some memory leak here?

REAPER 6.66/x64
Windows 8.1 Pro

FIXED (6.71)

Still happens in 6.69/x64. REAPER failed to render a video after several hours and needed to be restarted.

Can you show the task manager details view with REAPER having had these leaks, and enable the handle count column too.

That's a lot of handles! Looking into this. To reproduce, encode a lot of videos? Hoping it's not Win8.1 specific and we can reproduce on Win10... :/

Edit: aha I think I might have found something. edit again: yep, fix coming soon!

Thanks. Yes, it's just encoding some videos - doesn't need to be many - I think yesterday I might did 5 encodes or something like that and the issue showed up.

It is likely in the colorspace conversion code, if you can avoid going to RGB or YUY2 colorspaces (or force to YV12 as the last stage of the rendering), it should prevent the issue.

Or try 6.71rc1 which should fix this.

My loss of all project templates, track templates, fx chains was on 6.66 as well, win32, via wine in linux. Now having latest. But lost above.

I have "DirectShow EVR" set as default. I'll try 6.71rc1 ...
