[6.73 - Win64] Punch has no auto-crossfade
Basic time-select auto-punch. Auto-crossfade selected on toolbar button. The resulting punch begins and ends with fade in/out rather than the expected crossfade.
Notes: 1. Kenny Gioia's recent video on Media Item Defaults shows auto-crossfades on punches (from around 3'30"). 2. I do get auto-crossfades at splits. 3. Kenny is on a Mac, I'm on Windows 11 - is this significant? 4. I have made a new installation of Reaper on a different Win11/64 machine, with no changes at installed options, and still cannot get auto-crossfades on punches. Chris Beeson |

Kenny has "Options / New recording that overlaps existing media items / Trims existing items behind new recording (tape mode)" enabled.
With that option disabled, the punch-in is faded rather than crossfaded because the existing recording is not discarded, and REAPER doesn't want to overlap a media item with itself by default. |
