Shift+click should extend text-selection, like here in NotePad++
![]() However, in the IDE, the textselection is first extended, then dragged along: ![]() Tested under Windows 7 with Reaper 6.73+dev0113

Shortening it. That's how most editors I used do in this case.
Haven't got the exact rules in my mind right now, as I'm afk. But you can see it in the first gif.
