6.76 & VST3 multichannel (FIXED)
Version 6.76 and 6.77 broke compatibility with Harpex, a multichannel VST3.
Maybe this: "+ VST3: support 7.1.4, 9.1.4, and 9.1.6 speaker layouts (for FabFilter etc)" ? With Harpex, as far I can tell, channel routing is wrong at the input, like only channel 3 and 4 are active. |

Could you possibly post a very small .RPP with the plugin that demonstrates the problem?

Audio not needed. I'm not familiar with the plugin so a setup that does one thing in 6.75 and something different in 6.76 will help us understand the issue.

Thanks for posting the project. What should I look for as not working properly in 6.76?
[edit] never mind, I think I understand. |

REAPER asks the plugin if it can support 3rd order ambisonic, and the plugin says yes, then REAPER asks if the plugin can support 9.1.6, and the plugin says yes. So the plugin thinks it is getting 9.1.6 input, even though as far as I can tell the plugin can't actually process 9.1.6 input in a meaningful way. The audio signal sent from REAPER does not change, the only issue here is how the plugin interprets the signal.
We can change the priority order so REAPER asks about ambisonic after asking about 9.1.6, which will fix this specific case, but I think the underlying issue is that the plugin should not tell the host it can handle 9.1.6 input. Or alternatively in scenarios wehere multiple layouts/arrangements are possible for a given channel count, the user needs a way to specify which layout they want to use. |

Harpex is 4 IN only and 16 OUT max. I can reach out to the developper, but VST 3 has been problematic for ambisonic plug-ins (IEM, SPARTA).
See bottom of this page https://git.iem.at/audioplugins/IEMPluginSuite. |

Fixed by the Harpex developper. Thanks!
