Notes appear before the grid or after...! It's not the figures of banknotes! This started happening to me from version 6.79! Please, wizards of the best Daw in the world, fix this problem with the midi! Thank you so much for the incredible and essentially vital work for all of us!! Peace and love friends!

The starting position of the item has been offset. Try to align the starting position with the grid to avoid this problem.

Could you possibly post a small project or steps to reproduce the issue? I'm not able to see any problem with MIDI quantization in testing.

Thanks for sharing a sample project. The issue is as suggested in post #2 above. If the start time of the MIDI media item itself is not on the grid -- in other words, if the start position for the MIDI quantization is not itself quantized -- then the MIDI notes themselves can't be quantized. The solution is to make sure the start position of the media item is snapped to the grid. It doesn't have to be snapped to the full beat. If the MIDI PPQ is the default 960 PPQ, the media item can be snapped to the nearest 1/256 note, or even to 1/256 triplets.

Also note that there are improvements in the current prerelease builds of REAPER that should help prevent cases where MIDI media items are unintentionally moved off the grid, and also improve quantized playback.

perhaps some messaging on the quantizing Dialog?
"For best results, be sure the item is snapped to the arrange grid", or something. Or maybe it could detect that it is not on the grid? (But I suppose if it could do that it could compensate for it and we wouldn't be here.) I have seen this come up often here and on reddit, with people pulling their hair out and trash talking Reaper because of it. |
