[6.79 to 6.82] - No random color to each take when loop recording

Hello there,

I experienced this issue both on PC (win 10, old i7 7700hq HP Pavilion Laptop) and Mac Os (Ventura 13.5.2, mac mini 2023 m2 pro full specs).

When loop recording, different takes get the same random color for each take, therefore making comping a nightmare.

I do apologize if this issue has already been spotted and, would you be so kind to redirect me to the correct thread?

If not an issue but just a new setting, would you be so kind as to tell me how to set it properly in order to behave like expected (each take in a loop recording should have a different color)?

Note that I HAVE flagged the "Automatically color any recording pass that adds new takes to existing media items".

In order to avoid such problem, at the moment I have rolled back to reaper 6.78, which works just fine.

Thanks for the report! This is in fact a bug that was introduced in 6.79. It will be fixed for the upcoming 7.0 release, and we will likely do a 6.83 update as well to fix a few minor bugs like this.
