Hi all,
I've been loving the new swipe comping! I'm grateful for the actions that allow us to jump between the previous takes system and the new fixed lanes comping system. I've stumbled onto one that doesn't quite work though: "Take: Explode takes on selected tracks to fixed lanes and add comp areas from active takes" At first it does what it's supposed to and properly explodes the takes onto fixed lanes, but then I'm unable to switch takes using T and shift+T (I just have those as the default actions "Move comp area at mouse down, or switch items to next/previous take") I made a gif that explains what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/LXS6B5a As you can see, when I swipe comp, it works as expected, and when I cycle through takes with T and shift+T, the material in the comp lane doesn't change as it should Also, sorry for the imgur link, still trying to figure out embedding!

Would you mind cropping that project down to just the one track and sharing it, including the media? I can't immediately reproduce this behavior.

Sure thing. Dropbox ok?
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/gyfrz...d6aiatyfq&dl=0 It's only a few MB I'm just using noisy test files right now Sometimes when it explodes it'll also create a few empty lanes, which is the behavior I'm getting right now in this new single track test file. Usually that'll only happen if I undo a bunch and try again though, like I've been doing now to test this behavior. It also seems a little intermittent on my end, so I know this is perhaps some weird edge situation. I discovered this originally when using a third party script "Script: rodilab_Implode items on same track into takes (align with snap offset).lua" which will basically just automatically align items on the same track and put them into takes, then I went ahead and exploded into lanes from there. BUT, I am still getting the inconsistent behavior with the "Take: Explode takes on selected tracks to fixed lanes and add comp areas from active takes" action without necessarily using that action first. But I thought it might help.

Thanks for sending the project. Comping wasn't properly handing sectioned or reversed media, that's fixed for the next build.
The empty lanes when exploding are because the media was at one point on a higher-numbered lane on a fixed lane track. Media items remember the last lane they were placed in so that you turn off fixed lane view and turn it back on again, and the lane positions will be retained. |

Ah ok perfect, that sounds like it'll solve everything. And good to know about the empty lanes thing–I know there are actions to delete empty lanes so that's no biggie I just figured I'd mention it just in case
Thanks as always!
