Default Tempo/Time marker position seems bugged in large project

Hi.

We're using reaper for playback of whole live shows.
So we're using projects with hours of length and some thousand bars.
Each song has its correct tempo set via tempo markers.

The issue:

When I create or edit points (ctrl+click, or "Set point value" dialog), they begin to "jump" in time.

- On first 200, 300 bars, all seems fine.
- When going to a position later in the project, I'm not able to precisely position the points anymore.
- At ~ bar 1000, already starts to become imprecise by a beat or so.
- At bar 4000, its impossible to handle:
- I ctrl+click to create a marker at bar 4071 - reaper inserts point close to Bar 4065. I open the point value editor, it states position is "4064.8.00".
- I set the position to "4070.1.1" and hit ok. REAPER moves the point to "4064.1.10" instead.
- Another test, see attachment: A tempo marker at beat 1260.1.0.
When I open the edit dialog, it states its position is 1259.3.0.

There must be some imprecision or miscalculation that becomes greater and greater in huge projects and with each tempo change...?!

Right now its pretty much impossible to adjust times correctly.
Any idea if I can do anything against this? Or if it can be fixes?

Can you possibly delete all tracks from the project, so it contains only the tempo and other master track envelopes, and share the .rpp?

Yes of course, here you go.

Here are some comparison tests I took with the uploaded demo project:

- point created by ctrl+click at 653.1.0 gets created at 652.8.0
- point created by ctrl+click at 1000.1.0 gets created at 998.8.0
- point created by ctrl+click at 2500.1.0 gets created at 2496.8.0

- point value position set to 1000.1.00: reaper moves it to 999.1.0
- point value position set to 2500.1.00: reaper moves it to 2497.1.0

(Notes:
- Short "tempo spikes" in between the song region markers happen when moving regions around. Not beautiful, but they don't seem related to the issue.
- I'm working with Reaper 6 atm, but checked and found the same behavior on current Reaper 7.)

OK, fixing, thanks for sharing the project.

As a workaround, I think that shift+click inserts a point at the correct location.
