Default Region length decreasing by 1 sample when typed into "Edit Region" or when moved

Hi all

I'm new to Reaper and still evaluating whether it is the optimal solution for a set of quite specific requirements for my project.
Anyway, I was fiddling around with regions when I noticed the problem I've described in the title.

**To reproduce**
• Open new project
• Change the ruler mode (or however that is called) to samples (so that the bar at the top shows sample numbers)
• Create a region (length not important)
• Open "Edit Region" dialogue
• Type a number into the "Length" parameter (e.g. 40000)
• Press OK
• Open the "Edit Region" for the same region again.
• Check the value of "Length"

Very often (but not always, and I have no clue as to when) the Sample value will be decreased by one (so for 40000 it would show 39999). Moving the region around (without moving the content) sometimes solves the problem (the number switches back to 40000). In fact, when moving the region around like that, in some cases the length value can be seen switching between the two values in the yellow box that appears, depending on the position. This doesn't happen always and not always at the same positions – I think it's more prevalent when the grid is disabled. Activating the option “Snap to project sample rate” doesn’t seem to make a difference.

**Specs**
I use Windows 11 and REAPER version 7.20 (64 bit) in evaluation mode.

---

I realy like REAPER but with this strange behavior I cannot use it for my project as I need sample accurate regions. Hope it can be fixed soon. Thanks for all efforts in advance.

Although I think I can see how this might happen, I'm not able to reproduce it. What is the project sample rate?

[edit] never mind, I was able to reproduce.

I'm glad you were. I tested everything at 44.1 kHz. Thanks for looking into it
