Default TCP dividing line issue (FIXED)

Finally, decided to move to Reaper 7 (used 6 before).
There's a new feature I can't understand and I can't get rid of.

When you hover your mouse over the tracks, a horizontal line appears between them. If you click and drag the edge of a track to resize it, it selects the track and moves it. But I don't want to select the track, just resize it (as it was in previous versions).
Also, I don't understand an algorithm of this action: sometimes it moves the track, sometimes selects and resizes it. Pure random.

Sorry, I searched the forums, but didn't find any clues of how to return to previous state. Neither I found any option within the preferences window.

I think you are describing the Track divider line, the color of which can be described in the Theme Tweaker.

I don't think there is anything especially different about v7 regarding resizing or moving tracks.

On my install, everything works predictably as long as your mouse is placed correctly before you begin to drag.

Perhaps you can tweak your track divider line to be clearly visible so you can place your mouse more effectively before dragging it?

Good luck.

Tried to change the color of the Track divider - but it seems that's not it. I attached a screenshot of what I mean.
Also, I tried to do a clean installation of the latest Reaper, but the problem remains the same.

If the report is that clicking on the TCP resize divider selects the track above the divider, that was an unintended change in behavior in version 7.07. We will fix that for the next build, thanks for the report.

Hi,
I will most certainly defer to Schwa concerning the diagnosis, but I'd like to point out that I am on 7.24 Win7 x 64 with a Wacom tablet, and I can not make the drag function misbehave in any way.
I minimized my tracks, as shown in a prior post, thinking that might cause the issue to surface, but everything still seems to work exactly as I anticipate.

I am glad schwa recognized your issue and has a solution planned.

All the best!

Yes! Exactly. I knew this shouldn't be like this
My version is "v7.24 - October 4 2024"
Thank you and good luck. Waiting for the next update!

Hi,
I am in no way trying to marginalize the impact of the issue for users who encounter the problem, but I just checked and confirmed that the issue does not exist on my REAPER 7.25 Win 7 x64 install with my Wacom Tablet "mouse" replacement.

I guess schwa already knows the cause, but I can't help but wonder if this has something to do with Windows Ink, which I always have switched off.

I also have Win10_x64. mister happy, perhaps this bug is somehow related to the OS.
