Default [7.27 64 bit] unexpected behavior in File Properties pane

When working in the File Properties pane under Reaper 7.27, any edit of the Length field is abandoned (and reset to the pre-edit value) when tabbing out of that field, whereas tabbing out of every other numeric field on that pane commits the current edited value. The only way to commit a new length is to edit that field and commit via the enter key (which then sets the cursor to the head of the length field).

I'm running Windows 10 Home v10.0.19045

Do you mean the media item properties dialog? In that dialog, by default, no edits are committed until you click OK or Apply. If you right-click the dialog, there is an option to apply changes after 2 seconds of inactivity, which appears to work as expected when editing the length field.

I'm referring to the Item Properties (F2); sorry for being unclear.

Typing in any field there EXCEPT Length and then tabbing away results in the field showing the new value.
Typing in the length field and then tabbing away results in the field reverting to the prior value.

And yes, then OK-Cancel-Apply to go back to doing whatever.

In my use case, I'm activating this pane because I want to change the Start in Source take property (to start at 0:02.000 instead of zero, for example). After making that initial change, I'll reduce the length accordingly (0:02.000 shorter), and expect to be able to tab twice to activate the Fade in field (keeping my hands on the keyboard). That 3rd part fails with my keyboard-focused method.

I see that I can edit Length and then click into the Fade in field without losing the new Length value.

OK, yes, I see what you mean. Focusing the time/beats dropdown next to the position and length fields clears any edits in the dialog, and that dropdown gets focus when tabbing away from the length field. Fixing, thanks for the report.
