[FIXED A BIT] Annoying bug with capital letters with non-english localization

Hello again, mr. Justin! I have a question about searching actions without using capital letters. To find action contains "Spawn" word, I can text "spawn" or "Spawn". But to find action contains "Вийти" word (means quit) with capital letter, I can find it only with capital letter (with "Вийти", but not "вийти").




As a user, I can not guess where to use capital letters and where not to. Also, I'm using only small letters to find everything. Is it possible to fix it?

Perhaps we could add our alphabet to [actionlist_synonyms]-like section (new [alphabet] section?) and REAPER will be able to recognize it? Potentially, it also can help with recognizing any-language-has special letters like Ї,ї, Ґ,ґ, Є,є. So you wouldn't have to guess it. May be, you know another solution, so this is just my thoughts.

Maybe you could remove the capital letters in the actions Please be careful, developers, not to mess up all the work and bug fixes that have been done in the actions for the language packs.

OK, for now I just maked all letters non-capital to make searching easier. Looks quiet good. Later I will make them as they were.

Found another place with this bug. If I can make all the letters in the action list lowercase, I can not to do it in the Preferences. It doesn't make sense.

So, if I search 'Word' (with uppercase), I can not find 'word' (with lowercase), and vice versa.

Please, remove difference between upper- and lowercase words in the search fields for cyrillic.

Yes Amely, it is a problem, letter case should not matter, definitely.
I believe that it is due to cyrillic alphabet and hopefuly devs will find a way to fix it somehow.

It will not affect the sort ordering, just the case matching of cyrillic characters (hopefully).

Oh! Thank you! Just tested and discovered really interesting behaviour.

1. When I type 'word' in the Preferences, I see this word is matching with the synonyms block. That's great! But sometimes I find another results contains words that is totally mismatched to the original 'word'. Example:

ㅤㅤI type 'доріжка' (means track):

ㅤㅤI see result with a single word means 'cut': (of course I didn't put this word as a synonym for 'track')

ㅤㅤAnother result with the whole phrase but mismatched to the original 'word':



2. When I type 'Word', I see ONLY 'Word' and 'word' without synonyms. Edit: it is interesting, by the way.

3. When I type 'WORD' I have no results I don't need it but I typed it for the experiment.


Edit: all same with Actions except mismatched results if I type 'word'.

Some notes - in synonyms, they should all be written in lowercase. Also the case-folding of non-ASCII characters is not yet implemented there. The next build should fix these limitations (and support non-latin characters better in general).
