Default free ableton Impulse drumsampler clone ?

Let's go midi/vsti in Reaper !

I used to work with ableton's impulse drumsampler which is effective and takes no cpu...
But now I'm looking for a free (or very cheap) drumsampler which similar features to use in Reaper...

Most of the free drumsamplers i found took too many cpu for too few features...
And i have found vemberaudio shortcircuit which is an awesome sampler, but it cost nearly 150 euros, and the demo is 2-voices polyphony limited, which is too few for a drumsynth... and i guess the Computer music freebie sampler only uses mono files ?

Would anybody know one good ?

Sink, I don't know too much about Impluse but persoqanlly I find Jorgen's MachineII to be a great free little drum-sampler:

(no velocity-layering though - does Impulse feature it?)

But imo almost perfect is the very inexpensive DK+ - it is also very light on the cpu:

:-D

Which one among tall these are the most usabel in your opinion ?
Machine2 is nice, but i can't make it work as a drum sampler (without the integrated sequencer)... ANd it is so small that sometimes my mouse can't modify the values by one step, but by two... !
Jorgen HAsse Cyber Free looks perfect too, but i can't even make it work...
And most of others look like quick synthedit stuff, eating 15%cpu just to read some samples...
This is why i asked for users experiences when talking about cpu & usability..

What I like with Machine2 is that you can draw the enveloppe, it has all the nice features i'm looking after, and a killer skin (even if a bit too small !)...
But please help to tell me how to use it the way i'd like !
I rade that i had to send message using only the midi channel 10, but i might have done it bad : it did not work...

My favorite Drum VSTi is FXpansion's DR-008 (in combination with MusicLab's SlicyDrummer and FillInDrummer). The freeware DR-005 was the forerunner of it(it was a commercial product as well, see a review at http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb0.../fxpansion.asp, but the problem is that it's no longer available for download, at least at FXpansion. I would recommend that one simply because FXpansion is a great drumsampler company.
But where to find it these days?

No, wait - I found it here:
http://www.fxpansion.com/skunk/fx_dr005_10.zip

Registration code: 5707-7538-2305-6997
NB! This is LEGAL INFO as you can see at http://www.kvraudio.com/get/25.html

Hope you'll like it. Also check the downloadable DR-005 banks at KVR, though I've no idea if they're any good.

Perhaps fxpansion dr-005?
Low cpu with the basic most usefull features.
You can layer, asign cuttoffs, add decay, and make use of 4 stereo outs for mixing.

Oops petramar beat me to it lol.

that's correct - channel 10 plays the individual samples starting from C1 - I'm gonna try it in Reaper

just tried it - it doesn't work - that's a bug in Reaper - Reaper only transmits midi-data on channel 1 to the fx

well, it also doesn't record on other channels than 1 - but what you can do is to manually draw notes on channel 10 in an empty midi-event. This will the play back Machine's samples properly.

Thank you for the Fxpansion dr-005.
I tried again MachineII, but it is mono samples only... And as i deleted fro mmy drive SR-202 for the same reason, i guess MachineII won't last long !
Too many of my samples are stereo, and converting them all into mono (even with a batch methode) would be absurd, and take too many HD space...
I'll give a try to Dr-005.

... but if I coudl know how to load a sample into Jorgen Hasse Cyber FREE, and that it aaccept stereo samples, it would be perfect !

"Drag and drop WAV and AIFF from Windows Explorer", the info at KVR says...

I just tried it in REAPER, drag and drop from REAPER's media explorer works fine & it accepts stereo.
