Grouping. Like Arrange view groups.
1.) Create multiple, independent Groups of Notes, Continuous Controllers (CCs), Program Changes, etc.
2.) Grouping could work across multiple MIDI Items on the same Track (TCP), as well as ACROSS Tracks.
3.) Freely group multiple MIDI Notes with multiple CCs, etc. regardless of "Move CC with Notes" On/Off state.
4.) Customizable Grouping Border color. See below pictures for details.

Overview - New "Enable/Disable Grouping" button

Excellent idea.., I can't even tell you how much this would streamline my composing.

On point 2.) I would like to see this set up as options in the dialog window. Options could include [Selected Item(s), Selected Track(s), Across Open Project Tabs Selected Item(s), Across Open Project Tabs Selected Track(s)].

On point 4.) I would like to see this as a preference option that would include [Selected Group = Outlined, Selected Group = Tinted/Colored]
I think having a Tinted/Colored option my make it easier for some users to glance at and see which group is selected.
The Tinted/Colored option should also be customizable so the user can select the amount of Tint or the Color they want grouped events to be.

I would also add a point: 5.) Each group would have a tick box so that multiple groups can be selected for editing/filtering.

Then of course we would need Actions that would include [Add selected events to group(a dialog would appear asking for a group # or name), Un-group selected events]

One more point: 6.) An option for group edits to be either Relative or Absolute.
Examp: Say you have three notes in a group C,D#,G in Relative mode when you do a transpose edit of +1 semitone the outcome would be C#,E,G# and in Absolute mode the outcome would be C#,C#,C#.

Please.., oh please Devs make this a reality

Now that MIDI is getting some desperately needed attention, I thought I'd bring this FR back up. Grouping Notes, CCs, Prg.Changes, Etc. will hopefully work well with what's coming to R soon.
